compact and chunky

I wanted the seed feeder but ended up with the peanut feeder, the seller did offer to exchange with paid postage but i decided to keep this one.
The design is quite compact and the cage quite chunky looking. It took weeks before any bird would go near it, I now get bluetits and sparrows but not that often. The birds seem to prefer another make of feeder which is larger yet the cage aroung the feeder is finer so I can see the birds better as well
not brilliant

Reviewer: Mrs. Shantha Tyler,
Nuttery Squirrel Proof Lantern Bird Feeder For SeedThe squirrels swing on it, pull it over & scatter all the seeds on the ground or the base & eat. The problem is the small seeds as they come out on to the base as soon as even the birds start pecking. Cannot think of a way of improvng the design. May have to accept that it is not possible to do this with seeds. We are sticking to peanuts.
NOT Squirrel proof.

Reviewer: J. Chand,
Product arrived on time but damaged.
Contacted seller about damage but no response.
Most importantly feeder is NOT squirrel proof.
Squirrels can easily tilt feeder, seeds fall out,
contents emptied in less than an hour.
Do not buy, purchase squirrel proof lantern nut
feeder instead.

I agree with the previous reviews, this is not a sturdy feeder, the holes for the seeds are big and at the bottom, there is almost no point in filling the feeder, as squirrels have an easy task.
The refilling is in theory easy: just unscrew top of metal pin. However after a while the bottom part of this pin, which goes through the bottom metal seed catcher, loosened: now I can only fill it if I get the toolbox out and with a tool hold the bottom square part of the pin, in order to unscrew the top - waste of time.
Overall waste of money.
Very disappointed, expected more from this company.
